After seeing domestic and international come to a close for the 2023/24 season, the 25-year-old, along with Luiz, jetted off to the US. She had earlier visited Miami and Orlando before heading to LA. Lehmann is expected to be in attendance at SoFi Stadium on Tuesday as the Selecao play their first Copa America match against Costa Rica.

With Douglas Luiz linked with a move to Juventus this summer, Lehmann is also reportedly pushing for a transfer from the Villans that will see her switch bases from Aston to Turin.
28 wins, 89 points – a record that would have seen Arsenal win the Premier League title in 15 previous seasons, as well as finish joint-top in a further five.
That is a reminder of the levels that Mikel Arteta's side reached in 2023/24, although that remarkable run will count for nothing if it is not built on next term, with quality recruitment needed to help bridge that minute gap with rampant champions, Manchester City.
Talk is already rife that the Gunners have their eyes fixed on a new centre-forward signing in the form of RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, although the Slovenian sensation may not be the only exciting, young attacker to arrive at the Emirates in the near future.
Arsenal in the race for Eredivisie star
According to Het Belang van Limburg – via Sport Witness – the north Londoners and rivals Liverpool are said to be among the clubs who have made an approach for PSV Eindhoven star, Johan Bakayoko, with German giants Bayern Munich also in the mix.
Having previously turned down the likes of Brentford and Burnley last year, the 21-year-old could finally be on his way to England if Arsenal get their way, with the Belgian having caught the eye since making his first-team debut in 2022.
Johan Bakayoko for PSV
As per the report, there have been claims that the wing wizard could be available for a fee of around €50m (£43m), representing a cheaper alternative to another reported Gunners target, in the form of Crystal Palace's £60m ace, Michael Olise.
How Bakayoko compares to Olise and Saka
The suggestion at present is that Arteta and co are keeping an eye on the in-demand Olise this summer, with the 22-year-old courting attention from a raft of top-flight clubs after contributing 16 goals and assists in just 19 games this season for the Eagles.
If the Emirates outfit do wish to consider a possible rival or alternative to the former Reading man, then they should look no further than Bakayoko, with the PSV dynamo also able to offer that creative, clinical spark from the right flank.
A left-footer like Olise, the youngster is a real "handful for defenders" – in the words of broadcaster Jack Collins – having bettered the Palace man's return with 12 goals and nine assists in the Eredivisie this season.
With 14 goals and 14 assists in all competitions in total, the wideman now boasts a haul of 40 goal involvements in just 85 games for his current side – remarkably similar to Olise's 41 goals and assists in 90 games at Selhurst Park.
A worthy option in place of Olise, the suggestion is that Bakayoko could also potentially even threaten Bukayo Saka's regular role on the right flank, with data analyst Ben Mattinson noting that he would represent "genuine competition for Saka" in that wide berth.
Also described as the right-winger with the "profile most similar" to the England international, in the words of Mattinson, Bakayoko compares favourably to Saka with regards to his ball retention, dribbling prowess and ability to beat a man – as indicated below.

Of course, operating in the Premier League is a different kettle of fish to the Dutch top flight – as the likes of Antony have found out at Manchester United – yet it seemingly bodes well for the impact that the ten-cap Belgium international could make under Arteta.
With no real obvious competitor to Saka at present in the senior ranks, signing someone to keep the Hale End hero on his toes – and afford him the chance to be rested on occasion – could work a treat.

Lunch England have grabbed the fifth Test with both hands. In the space of 21.4 overs on day two, Gus Atkinson’s fourth five-wicket haul snuffed out India’s first innings for 224, before a bombastic opening stand between Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett propelled England to 109 for 1 at lunch, trailing by just 115.England’s openers were boundary happy, smoking 92 off just 77 deliveries, punishing India for every slight error in line or length. Duckett was the main driver, reverse-pulling Akash Deep over the cordon, then “conventionally” ramping Mohammed Siraj into the sponge for the first two sixes of the match.Duckett fell to Akash Deep attempting a third, departing for 43 with the bowler putting his arm around the left-hander, as much in jest as respect.Crawley was no slouch either, motoring on to a third half-century of the series in 42 deliveries, and second in a row after a tidy 84 in the fourth Test. His 24th score of fifty or more featured just four singles, with 12 fours, some along the ground, and three lifted serenely over cover.Zak Crawley raced to a fifty•PA Photos/Getty Images
Teeing up England’s speed run through to the break was Atkinson’s 5 for 33 upon his return to the side after two months out. He made light work of what remained of India’s first innings when they arrived on Friday morning on 204 for 6.It was all the more important after news this morning that Chris Woakes would play no further part in the match after a suspected dislocated shoulder sustained in the field last night. And the Surrey quick, on his home ground, took three of the remaining four wickets that India had up their sleeve. It was Josh Tongue who made the first key incision, albeit with a choatic approach that would get any surgeon struck off. His first over, opening from the Vauxhall End, went for nine, but he was able to remove Karun Nair for 57 in his second. A sharp delivery that nipped into the stumps – Nair no doubt expected something short and wide either side of them – pinned the right-hander on the back leg. Plumb in front, Nair took one of India’s three reviews with him.Washington Sundar should have assumed the responsibility at that point as an elongated tail became exposed, but he fell five deliveries later, waltzing into a short ball trap, heaving Atkinson to deep square leg, where Jamie Overton sprinted in to take a smart catch.Atkinson would then skittle Siraj before Prasidh Krishna felt for a delivery outside off, completing a collapse of four for six in 18 balls. It also leaves Atkinson with an average of 21, the fourth best for an England seamer with fifty or more dismissals, and the second best strike rate, ever, at 34.9, for those who have taken 60 wickets.

Shubman Gill continued to make a case for selection as a Test opener, scoring another century on day three of the second unofficial Test in Lincoln. It was an excellent day for India’s Test batsmen overall, with Hanuma Vihari (59) and Cheteshwar Pujara (52*) also spending valuable time in the middle as India A went to stumps at 234 for 1 in reply to New Zealand A’s 390 for 9 declared. While New Zealand A were under the pump with the ball, conceding close to four-and-a-half runs per over, they had a good day with the bat, with allrounder Daryl Mitchell keeping himself in contention for the Tests with his eighth first-class century. All of day two had been washed out, and Mitchell was batting on 36 when New Zealand A resumed on 276 for 5. Half-centurion Dane Cleaver fell in the fifth over of the morning, to Sandeep Warrier, before Mitchell found support in Nathan Smith, the seventh-wicket pair adding 57. New Zealand A scored a further 38 runs after Smith’s dismissal, and Mitchell did the bulk of the scoring, with Blair Tickner (4 off 34) and last man Ed Nuttall (4* off 19) holding their end up and enabling him to reach his century. Mitchell was batting on 103 off 222 balls, with 10 fours and a six, when New Zealand A declared.R Ashwin, who had bowled 22 wicketless overs on day one, got in the wickets column by bowling Ish Sodhi and Tickner, and finished with figures of 37.5-4-98-2.India A’s reply was frenetic, with the openers putting on 111 in just 21 overs before Vihari, who hit nine fours in his 73-ball 59, was caught behind off Tickner. That was the only success for New Zealand A in 53 overs, as Gill and Pujara dug in until stumps, putting on an unbroken 123 in 31.5 overs. Gill ended the day batting on 107 off 153 balls, with 13 fours and a six, and Pujara on 52 off 99, with seven fours and a six. With Rohit Sharma injured and out of the Test squad, Gill and Prithvi Shaw are vying for one slot alongside Mayank Agarwal at the top of the order. While Shaw and Agarwal are opening for India in the ongoing ODI series, Gill has struck a rich vein of form for India A, his century in this innings following up scores of 83 and 204* in the first unofficial Test in Christchurch. Going into the final day in Lincoln, Gill has a first-class average of 75.14, with seven hundreds and ten fifties in 21 matches.
It’s not been a year to remember for West Ham United supporters, and there are few signs of encouragement so far this summer.
The Hammers finished 14th in the Premier League last season, sacking Julen Lopetegui in January, having picked up 1.15 points-per-game under the Spaniard, before this actually dropped to 1.11 points-per-game following Graham Potter’s appointment.
West Ham United manager GrahamPotter
As they look to improve ahead of next season, star attacker Mohammed Kudus has been sold to fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur, while full-backs Kyle Walker-Peters and El Hadji Malick Diouf have arrived.
Now though, with another one of the Hammers’ most high-profile players potentially on his way out, should they replace him with an “exquisite” talent?
West Ham target Lucas Paquetá's replacement
On Friday, it was reported by Martyn Ziegler and Matt Lawton of the Times that Lucas Paquetá is ‘set to be cleared’ of spot-fixing.
As documented by Mario Cortegana and Roshane Thomas of the Athletic, the Brazilian was alleged to have intentionally collected yellow cards in four Premier League matches, thereby ‘affecting or profiting from the betting market’, which, if found guilty, would have seen him handed a lifetime ban by the FA, but this will now not come to pass.
These allegations scuppered Paquetá’s proposed move to Manchester City two years ago, but it is now forecast that the Brazilian will push for a transfer this summer, reportedly valued at around £80m by West Ham.
Should he depart, the Hammers would need to sign a replacement, hence why journalist Ben Jacobs is reporting that they are interested in signing Fábio Vieira from Arsenal, adding the Irons are ‘planning to add multiple midfielders’ to their squad.
Transfer Focus
Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.
Vieira was not included in the Gunners’ squad that is currently in Hong Kong, but that’s due to his exploits at the Club World Cup, starting all three of Porto’s fixtures in the United States last month, providing an assist during their bonkers 4-4 draw with Al Ahly.
So, could he become the latest player to go directly from Arsenal to West Ham, following in the footsteps of Jack Wilshere, Manuel Almunia, Jérémie Aliadière, Marouane Chamakh, Carl Jenkinson, John Hartson, Freddie Ljungberg, Lucas Pérez, Davor Šuker, Nigel Winterburn, Ian Wright, and many others? We could go on!
What Fábio Vieira would bring to West Ham
Vieira joined Arsenal from Porto three summers ago for a reported fee of £34m, and has shown glimpses of why they paid that money, but has never produced on a consistent basis.
The table below illustrates Vieira’s statistics for the Gunners, as well as what he produced last season, having been loaned back to Porto.

As the table notes, Vieira never managed to establish himself as a first-choice figure in the Arsenal team, starting just three times during his most recent campaign with the club, his only goal an 88th-minute penalty during a 5-0 demolition of Sheffield United.
Despite this, his talent is obvious, with presenter Adam Keys impressed by his “incredibly clean ball-striking” ability, labelling him “exquisite”, while Lorihanna Balabanova of Total Football Analysis outlines how he is at his best as a ‘creative attacking midfielder’ who likes to ‘occupy the right half-space’.
Well, similarly, Karim Shahine of Total Football analysis notes that Paquetá thrives as a ‘right-sided half-space’ number ten, praising his ‘creativity’ and ‘tactical flexibility’.
Based on that, it would appear as though Vieira would be the ideal replacement for his fellow left footer, so let’s take a look at how the duo compared last season.

As the table outlines, in 300 fewer minutes, Vieira’s statistics were, almost across the board, more impressive than Paquetá’s, notably when it came to chances created, shooting and dribbling.
Of course, the caveat is that he was doing so at a lower level, with the Primeira Liga ranked by Global Football Rankings as the seventh-strongest league in the world.
Nevertheless, Vieira is certainly available this summer, no longer in Mikel Arteta’s plans, so the Gunners may well sanction another loan deal, making his signing a low-risk, high-upside move for West Ham.

da fazobetai: Everton have suffered the worst injury crisis in the Premier League this season which has ultimately led to many of their first team’s players being sidelined whilst the squad has struggled to pick up points.
da jogodeouro: Frank Lampard’s side are currently two points deep into the relegation zone sitting in 18th with just five games remaining to seal their fate, the potential of losing their top-flight status is at an all-time high, but now they have had an unexpected injury boost that could have a positive impact in keeping their safety hopes alive.
Tom Davies returned this weekend to the Everton bench against Chelsea at Goodison Park after suffering what was thought to be a season-ending knee injury, and his speedy recovery has stunned many.
Liverpool Echo journalist Joe Thomas tweeted: “Incredible effort from Tom Davies to get back into Everton matchday squad ahead of expectations.
“A surprise spot on the bench for him today – his injury was deemed so severe he was not even registered in Premier League squad in January, only returning after Gbamin left on loan.”
The Merseyside born midfielder’s return to action has given Lampard another lifeline in his pursuit to keep hold of Premier League football at the club this season, and the Toffees boss has revealed how he can play his part in the final fixtures.
Lampard told reporters (via Liverpool World):
“He’s been on the training pitch now for a couple of weeks and is so dedicated to the cause. It comes out of his veins, you can see it.
“Hopefully, he can contribute in the final, latter part of the season.”
Davies has only made five appearances in the league this season but was hugely effective in the centre of the pitch during his few performances, scoring once and proving successful in 100% of his dribbles and 59% of his duels combined, proving that he has the potential to be a promising force if he can get the opportunity to play again this season.
Ultimately, Lampard must do everything that he can in his few remaining opportunities to pick up points and save Everton from relegation this season and having Davies available to positively impact his side will surely be a huge relief and boost to the squad ahead of the last few weeks.

His new contract will extend up to the 2021 T20 World Cup in India

‘Ravi Shastri was the unanimous choice’ – Kapil Dev
Ravi Shastri will remain head coach of the senior India men’s team, with his new contract extending up to the 2021 T20 World Cup in India. The BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) spent much of Friday interviewing five candidates for head coach, with a sixth – Phil Simmons – pulling out of the race earlier in the day. The CAC rated the candidates on five separate categories – coaching philosophy, experience, achievements, communication, and “knowledge of modern coaching tools” – and Shastri emerged the winner. The three members of the CAC – former India captain Kapil Dev, former India coach Anshuman Gaekwad and former India women captain Shanta Rangaswamy – agreed “unanimously” to retain Shastri’s services, Kapil announced, with Mike Hesson, the former New Zealand and Kings XI Punjab coach, and Tom Moody, the former Sri Lanka and Sunrisers Hyderabad coach, coming a close second and third respectively.Ravi Shastri’s coaching CV•ESPNcricinfo LtdApart from Shastri, Hesson and Moody, the CAC also interviewed Robin Singh, who has coached at four-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians and was formerly India’s fielding coach, and Lalchand Rajput, India’s manager during their victorious World T20 campaign in 2007 and more recently coach of Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. Hesson, Robin and Rajput made their presentations to the CAC in person, while Moody and Shastri – who is with the India team in the West Indies – appeared via teleconference. The interviews for the remainder of India’s backroom staff will commence next week, tentatively from August 19-22. India’s senior selection panel, led by MSK Prasad, was supposed to pick the head coach’s support staff, as per the BCCI’s new constitution, but ESPNcricinfo understands that the CAC wanted to have a say, and expressed its interest and wrote to the BCCI requesting to be involved in the process. The contracts of Shastri and his earlier support staff were meant to expire at the end of the 2019 World Cup, but they were given a 45-day extension keeping in mind the ongoing West Indies tour. Ahead of the team’s departure for the Caribbean, India captain Virat Kohli made a public announcement that he would prefer if Shastri were to continue as head coach. When Shastri was appointed in July 2017, the CAC at the time – comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman – had consulted Kohli during the selection process. This time, the CAC did not seek Kohli’s opinion on the matter.”Absolutely not,” Kapil said, when asked if the CAC had been in touch with Kohli before it made its pick. “If we had asked him, we would have had to ask the whole team their opinion too.”The previous CAC had also tried to sort out the differences between Kohli and Anil Kumble, who had stepped down as head coach in fractious circumstances before Shastri’s 2017 appointment. It subsequently emerged that Kohli had refused to budge in that instance, which eventually resulted in Kumble opting to walk away.Shastri first joined India’s backroom staff as team director during the 2014 tour of England, and remained director in the absence of a head coach, when Duncan Fletcher’s tenure ended after the 2015 World Cup. Shastri was out of the set-up when Kumble became head coach in June 2016, but returned as head coach after Kumble’s resignation.Since then, Shastri has overseen Test match wins in South Africa and England, and a maiden Test series win in Australia, in 2017-18. Under Shastri, India most recently reached the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup in the UK, topping the round-robin phase of the tournament before exiting with a loss to New Zealand.

WHAT HAPPENED?
According to , the Italian giants are keen to sign the Nice midfielder, who is valued at around £12-15 million (€15-18m/$16-19m). With the Old Lady trying to strengthen their midfield, the Serie A team are said to be keen on recruiting the 23-year-old – who is out of contract in 2025. However, claims that Real Madrid have also been offered the player, though it is not known if he is on their list of targets to replace Toni Kroos.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The report adds Juventus are closing in on signing Douglas Luiz and are trying to retain the services Adrien Rabiot, as they try to strengthen their midfield. The 6ft 4in midfielder Thuram has shone for Nice since joining them in 2019 but this would be a step up for the one-time France international.
DID YOU KNOW?
Thuram's father Lillian played 204 times for Juventus between 2001-06 and together they won two Serie A titles and one Supercoppa Italiana. If Khephren joins Juventus, he could come up against his older brother Marcus – who plays as a striker for Inter.

WHAT NEXT?
Khephren, who has racked up 167 appearances and scored nine goals for Nice, will wait and see in the coming days and weeks what happens over his future. He will be due to come back for pre-season in the coming weeks, though.
He also expects the timing of declarations to play a crucial role in the day-night Test in Adelaide
ESPNcricinfo staff24-Nov-2020It’s almost inevitable now that the build-up to a Test series involving Australia will heavily feature Steven Smith and the challenge of bowling to him. Smith has himself spoken of the possibility that India will look to bowl persistently short at him – a method that brought Neil Wagner success when New Zealand toured Australia in 2019-20 – but Sachin Tendulkar has suggested a different approach.Tendulkar wants India’s fast bowlers to bowl in the fifth-stump channel to Smith, shifting to that wider line to account for his pronounced shuffle across his stumps.”Smith’s technique is unconventional… Normally, we tell a bowler in Test matches to bowl on and around off stump or maybe fourth-stump line,” Tendulkar told . “But for Smith, because he shuffles, maybe that line moves further away [from off stump] by four to five inches.”One has to aim between [an imaginary] fourth and fifth stump for Steve to nick one. It’s just a mental adjustment of line, more than anything else.”Smith, I read, said he is ready for the short-pitched stuff… probably he is expecting bowlers to be aggressive up front with him. But I think he needs to be tested on and around that off-stump channel. Keep him on [the] back foot and induce that early mistake.”The first Test in Adelaide will be a pink-ball, day-night game. The change in conditions around twilight could make the timing of declarations crucial, Tendulkar said.”Probably due to difference in timing, you have to score those quick runs in the first session of the day which is afternoon, when the pitch will be flat. The pink ball starts seaming around in twilight and that’s the ideal time to bowl,” Tendulkar said. “So pacing the innings and the timing of declaration becomes very critical. Suppose you have a decent score on board and you are eight down at the sunset, you should declare rather than going for an extra 20 runs.”Put the opposition in during that twilight hour and take two to three wickets straight up. That will be more valuable than those 20 runs.”Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah share a laugh•Getty Images
Tendulkar contended that the help for the new ball during twilight – observed in a number of pink-ball Tests that have taken place so far – was probably due to the grass on the pitch cooling down, before another change in conditions caused by the onset of dew.”Get the top order out when the grass cover on the pitch is cool but not wet,” Tendulkar said. “If the grass is cool then there will be seam movement but if it’s wet, then it will go straight and just skid through the surface.”Once the outfield gets wet and if some dew is on offer, then it will be easy for batsmen.”Over the last few years, India’s bowling attack has been able to consistently bowl oppositions out in Test matches abroad. But in Australia, Tendulkar said it would also be crucial for India to have holding bowlers to build pressure by keeping the scoring down.”As I have always said, we have one of the best and most balanced bowling attacks India has ever had. Eventually, you have to pick 20 wickets to win Test matches. But 20 wickets shouldn’t be too expensive either.”… along with our attacking bowlers, we should also identify bowlers who can hold one end up on unresponsive pitches, bowl those continuous maiden overs to build the pressure.”
Manchester City look set to have a rather busy summer transfer window once their current season comes to an end.
Having secured a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, the Citizens may also be set to see one of the club’s most significant figures leave the Etihad Stadium.
Last month, City’s veteran midfielder Fernandinho revealed that this would be his final season at the Manchester club after signing for them back in 2013.
With 380 appearances for City under his belt across all competitions, the Brazilian has scored 26 goals, delivered 33 assists and won numerous trophies along the way.
If the club feel the need to secure an immediate replacement for the 37-year-old this summer, one potential transfer that they could look to complete is for AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
Last month, Pep Guardiola’s side were linked with a summer move for the 22-year-old.
Since joining Monaco from Bordeaux in January 2020, the midfielder has gone on to make 93 appearances across all competitions. In that time, the youngster has chipped in with eight goals and six assists along the way.
Despite his occasional knack for scoring or creating goals, it’s his defensive talents which could make him an ideal long-term replacement for Fernandinho at City.
With 33 Ligue 1 appearances and three goals to his name in the current campaign, the midfielder has the highest number of players tackled (94), tackles won (64), pressures (562), successful pressures (203) and interceptions (108) of anyone in the Monaco squad.
Looking at the league as a whole, Tchouameni also has the highest number of combined tackles and interceptions under his belt (202).
Having racked up a total of 225 players tackled during his time with City in the Premier League since the 2017/18 season, the Brazilian would leave a big hole in their squad with his absence, but one that a player like Tchouameni could fill.
Labelled an “extraordinary” player by his fellow France international Paul Pogba, the Monaco star reportedly has a price tag of £83m to his name.
While this may seem hefty given his fairly young age, it could be an investment worth making for City to give them their ideal replacement for Fernandinho.
